Five Minutes with Olivia Parrott
We sat down for 5 minutes with the latest addition to the Evolution London team, Olivia, to find out some more about her and her role as Senior Venue Sales Manager.
Let's start with getting to know a bit more about you - how did you get into the events industry?
I started within the events industry at the age of 18, ready and raring to go! I was offered an events management apprenticeship and got involved in as much as I possibly could, learning through selling, planning, and running lots of events. Organisation has always been one of my best qualities, so that mixed with the social element was how I knew working in events was exactly what I wanted to do. Fast forward to now and I have never looked back!
Tell us about your role at Evolution London?
I am the Senior Venue Sales Manager of Evolution London; from initial enquiries, I handle an eclectic mix of event briefs with a sales focus. Day to day this entails understanding our client event briefs in detail, creating proposals, showing clients around the venue space, and focussing on our client relationships.
What's your favourite thing about the venue?
Evolution London always has the client experience at the forefront which I love. From our extravagant themed Christmas parties to conferences, the versatility of the space is unique, with endless branding opportunities and lots of space for different event concepts. It is amazing seeing the venue transform from a complete blank canvas to an incredible event!
What's your favourite event that you have done so far?
My favourite event I have seen at Evolution is the Music Week Awards! The event had a great buzz with a drinks reception, seated dinner, awards ceremony and of course the after-party – that’s what Evolution London does best!
What's your favourite thing to do in London in your free time?
Brunching (bottomless preferably)! I love finding quirky, boutique-style places to brunch in. My personal favourites are Duck and Waffle or, if bottomless, Gaucho! I also think that in London during summertime, you can’t beat a good picnic in Hyde Park.
Finally, what is your favourite dish prepared by our fabulous chefs?
This is a tough one! My favourite dish would have to be our ‘new season peas, pink fir potatoes, egg yolk purée, mint ash, pea shoot salad, sauce gribiche (v)’ starter. It is such a refreshing summer starter and has been a firm favourite with clients!
