Five Minutes with Tess Norcliffe

Say hello to Tess, the latest friendly face at Evolution London! She first joined our ticketed events team last year as an Event Sales Executive and has recently stepped into an exciting new role, selling the venue year-round. Find out all about her role, and how she got into the events industry, here!

How did you get into the events industry?

My interest in the events industry began with my mum, who has always worked in events. I helped her out with various events over the years, which gave me a firsthand look at how events are planned and executed. This experience, combined with my mum’s influence, sparked my passion for the industry and motivated me to pursue it professionally.

Can you tell us about your role at Evolution London?

I work as a Sales Executive, helping to sell the space for year-round events. Previously, I only worked on their Christmas events, so it’s been really interesting to expand my role and learn about the variety of events that take place throughout the year. It’s been great to see how different types of events are planned and executed, and it’s exciting to be involved in such a wide range of events.

What's your favourite thing about the venue?

What I love most about Evolution is its versatility. With limitless branding potential, every event feels like a completely new experience. The ability to transform the venue to match each client’s vision ensures that no two events are ever the same, keeping things fresh and exciting. A recent standout moment for me was hosting the Speakers Corner X Evolution London: Inspiring Stories event. Typically accommodating up to 5,000 guests, the venue was seamlessly scaled down to an intimate setting for just 300, perfectly showcasing the adaptability of the space and the diverse range of events we can bring to life.

What's your favourite event that you have done so far?

I couldn’t choose one single favourite event, but experiencing my first run of Christmas parties was definitely a highlight! The theming and production are truly unmatched. There’s something magical about transforming the space and seeing everything come together to bring the holiday spirit to life.

What’s your favourite thing to do in London in your free time?

In my free time, I love exploring the city, going for a run, and grabbing dinner and drinks with friends. There’s always something new to discover in London, whether it’s a hidden spot or a great place to eat.

Lamb, Lasagne, Broccoli

What is your favourite dish prepared by our chefs?

Oh, that’s a tough one! If I had to choose, I’d go for the Lamb, Lasagne, Broccoli—an unexpected combination, but absolutely delicious! And of course, I have to give a special shoutout to Allison’s (our incredible staff chef) weekly roasts—they’re the ultimate midweek comfort food and we all look forward to them every week.
