Evolution London

A New Era of Accessibility

Since the long-awaited redevelopment and reopening of the iconic Battersea Power Station in late 2022, Battersea has reclaimed its reputation as a bustling London hotspot. Situated amongst the trendy neighbourhoods of Clapham and Vauxhall, and just south of the highly sought after Chelsea, the area is now very well-connected via various transport links and also offers lots of incredible places to stay. Read on to find out all the different ways you can get to the area, to help your trip planning a little bit easier.

By Boat

Take the leisurely, scenic route along the Thames on the Uber Boat! London’s River Bus runs from 24 piers between Putney to Barking Riverside. With a café onboard, and comfortable seating, you can sit back, relax and take in the iconic views of London from the river. With travel times of only 15 minutes from Embankment, 20 minutes from Blackfriars and 40 minutes from Canary Wharf, this is definitely the most relaxing way to travel.

By Tube

Alongside the opening of the new shopping centre, came the opening of the new Battersea Power Station tube station. The new Northern Line branch has made accessing the area more simple than ever, making the journey to the West End and City only 15 minutes. There are also many other stations within close proximity, including Sloane Square (Circle and District Lines), Victoria (District and Victoria Lines), and Vauxhall (Victoria Line).

By Train

If you require an overground train service, there are also a few different stations within short walking distance of the area. Southern Rail services operate from Battersea Park Station, South Western Railway services run from Queenstown Road Station, or you are not far from Victoria Station which connects a wide range of areas to the city.

By Bike

Another fun, scenic way to get to and from Battersea Power Station is to cycle! There are various TFL cycle stands located around the area where you can pick up or park your bike. Equally, there are lots of places you can park your own bike, and there are spaces for around 500 bikes.

Battersea Power Station

The New Power Station

In October 2022, after 40 years of closure, the iconic Grade II-listed Battersea Power Station reopened its doors, bringing with it a myriad of shops, bars, restaurants and leisure and entertainment venues for all to enjoy. Fashion fanatic? Have a field day browsing the windows of a wide range of luxury fashion brands. Foodie? Spend your day indulging in a diverse selection of delicacies from all over the world. If none of this takes your fancy, you can even take a trip up the famous chimneys in ‘Lift 109’, offering you 360-degree, panoramic views of the Capital. The new development also offers an annual events programme, ensuring that there is something on offer for all ages and interests.
