The Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Festival at Evolution London

The iconic Ski and Snowboard Festival returns year after year to Evolution London.

Evolution London has hosted the Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Festival every autumn since 2015, welcoming tens of thousands of winter sports fans through its doors each time. The event most recently took place from 24th-27th October 2019, making the most of the venue’s brand-new structure, and once again it certainly did not disappoint.

What’s On?

From real-life huskies and wintery arts and crafts for the kids to a large indoor ice rink and pro-rider demonstrations, we transform the venue and its surroundings year on year beyond recognition. The annual festival takes over our exclusive 14,000m² site, with approximately 150 exhibitors using the space both indoors and outdoors to its absolute maximum. The sheer size of Evolution London’s exterior allows attractions such as the 50ft kicker, Mount Battersea, for professionals to take to the slopes (with real snow!) to show off their latest tricks, as well as a vintage ferris wheel and a selection of exhibitors – and that’s just outside.

Inside, attendees can skate on the pop-up Crystal Ice Rink and try their strength on the Snow & Rock-Climbing Wall. Axe-throwing, a panel discussion with Winter Olympians and craft beer tasting are also offered within the venue, as well as plenty of chances to book your next ski holiday, try on must-haves from a broad range of retailers, and even brush up on your skills before you hit the slopes. After exploring, visitors are then offered the chance to sit back and relax on our dedicated après bar on the inside mezzanine, offering views over the kicker and delicious food and cocktails from our in-house caterers, Smart Hospitality.

How Has The Event Changed?

The Ski and Snowboard Festival has evolved over the years, and Evolution London has grown with it. In recent years, we moved the Crystal Ice Rink inside the venue and added a Graystone mini-skate ramp next to the rink, where visitors could have taster sessions in skateboarding. We also introduced the outdoor vintage ferris wheel showcasing beautiful views of the park, which wasn’t present in the earlier years of the event, as well as an exterior live stage so visitors were entertained at every corner.

Why Evolution London?

The festival was one of our first events after Evolution London’s brand-new transformation in September 2019. The venue’s new 8m ceiling height, sleek new entrance, enhanced production facilities and floor-to-ceiling 2m x 2m glass panels allowed for better layout and branding opportunities, making this dynamic space even more versatile for our client.
